BALLISTICS
2008 RIVER RUN
FLYBALL TOURNAMENT

August 30th & 31st, 2008

T. North Pavilion – Cass Street. - Vassar, Michigan

Hello everyone and thanks for entering the Ballistics 2008 Flyball Tournament. Our team is looking forward to spending Labor Day with all of you! New at this year’s tournament we’ll be trying the two lanes, one schedule format. Our judges will be Todd Morningstar and Jennifer DeRocher.

Crating is outdoors on the sides of the arena with plenty of grass and shade available, or across the street.  Motor homes may park overnight, across the street from the arena, but please do not park in the restaurant parking area. We do ask that everyone be considerate and conserve space during set up so that all participants have room. Also new this year: There will be at least 12 electrical hookups for RV’s/campers across the street. This is a 20-amp service and the cost for hooking up is $5 per day. These hook ups are available on a first come; first serve basis, no holding spots please. Parking behind the arena is reserved. There will be electric available for fans and power for the day use around the arena.  Bathrooms (no showers) are available on site.  Please be mindful of the walking/jogging trail that runs along the river and through the area where teams are set up as well as the children’s park which are both open to the public at all times and do not let your dogs off leash at any time except when racing.

Saturday morning, be sure to visit our hospitality room for fresh donuts, coffee and apples, our treat! Our awesome DJ, Jason, will be keeping the tunes rolling during racing both days this year so feel free to give him any special requests! We will also have popcorn and cotton candy this year thanks to teammate Mike Burger, and again will have a limited number of T-Shirts for sale this year. Check them out early as we expect them to go quickly. This year the shirts will list each entered clubs’ active dog’s names. You’re going to want one!

As always, we are planning a fun-filled Saturday night, should you choose to hang around and join us.

Come dark, we will be showing a movie in the arena, popcorn provided!  So bring your chairs and your favorite drink(s) and enjoy the movie.

Racing will begin at 8 AM on Saturday and 9 AM on Sunday.  Measuring will take place on Saturday between 7:30 and 7:45 am.  There will be an important captains’ meeting at 7:45 so be sure to send someone to get the information. Warm-Ups will be 2 minutes from the time the previous team removes their flyball box.  We will cut warm-up time if necessary.  We will be taking lunch breaks both days. Practicing will not be allowed in the arena at any time over the weekend except during the warm-up period prior to the start of each race.

Racing formats will be as follows:  With exception of Regular 2 and Multi 2’s elimination racing (which will be 3 of 3), all racing will be best 3 of 5. Regular Divisions 1, 2, 3, 4 and Multi 1 will all be double round robins. Regular Division 5 will be a single round robin followed by a single elimination. Multi Division 2 will be a single round robin followed by a double elimination (racing 3 of 3 in elimination only).

Placements: One point for a win, zero for a loss for 3 of 5 racing. 3 of 3 racing will be given 1 point for each heat won. Most points wins in round robin only divisions.  In Multi 2 elimination, most heats won advances to next race. Round Robin placement will be scored together with elimination placement for final placing in Regular Division 5 and Multi Division 2.  Ties will be broken based on the following:

1.      Previous Head to Head competition

2.      Best Time Head to Head

3.      Best Time Overall throughout the tournament

Please plan to attend our special awards presentation prior to tournament awards at the conclusion of racing on Sunday.  We will have awards for ALL clubs entered in the tournament.
