FLYBALL, INC

September 5th & 6th, 2009

T. North Pavilion – Cass Street . - Vassar , Michigan

Hello everyone and thanks for entering the Flyball, Inc. “Twisted River Run 2009 Flyball Tournament".  Flyball, Inc. is very proud to be hosting its' first ever U-FLI tournament over what looks to be a beautiful Labor Day Weekend! Our team is looking forward to spending this holiday with all of you and we really appreciate your support this year!

This year’s tournament will be just one racing lane and our head judge is Todd Morningstar. Crating is outdoors on the sides of the arena with plenty of grass and shade available, or across the street.  Motor homes may park overnight, across the street from the arena, but please do not park in the restaurant parking area. We do ask that everyone be considerate and conserve space during set up so that all participants have room. Our site will have electrical hookup for RV’s/campers, etc and there will be electric available for fans and power for the day use around the arena.  Bathrooms (no showers) are available on site.  Crating behind the arena is for Flyball Inc. team members only. Please be mindful of the walking/jogging trail that runs along the river and through the area where teams are set up and do not let your dogs off leash at any time except when racing.

The local restaurants will be providing menus and phone #’s which we will post in our hospitality room, some will even deliver to you at the arena!  Saturday morning, be sure to visit our hospitality room for fresh donuts, coffee and apples, our treat! We will also have popcorn and cotton candy this year thanks to teammate Mike Burger. There will be a limited number of T-Shirts for sale for $15.00 with every entered clubs’ name printed on the back. Be sure to get yours early! Also on Saturday from noon til 4pm for the ladies (and the men) be sure to make time to visit the Mary Kay booth located on site for a free facial from Julia and also to pick up any products you like. We decided to try something different with our raffle this year and have simplified it to offer everyone the chance to win gift cards rather than traditional baskets. Tickets will be sold at the T-shirt table and the drawing will be on Sunday at 3 pm.

This year, Flyball, Inc. will be hosting a pot luck dinner shortly after racing finishes on Saturday. We will provide the "award winning" tasty pulled pork as the main dish and we request that everyone bring their favorite recipe side dish to share to make this meal one not to miss! As always, we are planning a fun-filled Saturday night, should you choose to hang around and join us.  We‘ll be having a special guest DJ playing your requests during racing Saturday and Sunday and after racing Saturday night, Come dark, we will be dancing to your favorite tunes in the arena, popcorn provided!  So bring your sense of humor and your favorite drink(s) and enjoy the evening with us.

Racing will begin at 8 am Saturday and 8:30 am Sunday.  Measuring will take place on Saturday between 7:30 and 7:45 am.  Warm-Ups will be 2 minutes from the time the previous team removes their flyball box.  We will cut warm-up time if necessary.  We will break for lunch each day, after the designated race number.

All racing will be best 3 of 5.  Racing formats will be as follows:  All Standard Divisions will be triple round robins. Variety Division 1 will be a double round robin. Placements: One point for a win, zero for a loss, most points wins in round robin only divisions.

Ties will be broken based on the following:

1.      Previous Head to Head competition.

2.      Best Time Head to Head.

3.      Best Time Overall throughout the tournament

Please plan to attend our special awards presentation prior to tournament awards at the conclusion of racing on Sunday.  We will have awards for all placements in all divisions.
